This 4 story limestone townhouse in the Park Slope area of Brooklyn had been owned by the same family for over a half century prior to the renovation project. Fortunately, the home retained many of its vintage features. Restoring and retaining these features were a priority. Layers of paint were stripped away to reveal hidden architectural details. The covered floors were revealed and stained to bring out the rich grains of the oak wood. Alongside the historic fabric of the space, a fresh new interior was woven in. A powder room and laundry were snuck into unused closets and the master suite was redesigned with an en-suite bathroom. The space retains its historic nature while opening itself up to light, air and the 21st century.
